In order to study the effect of selenium deficiency on intestinal mucosal immunologic function of chicken, 60 chicken were choosed as the trial animal and selenium deficiency model were build up, discussed the effect of selenium deficiency using the changes of growth performance and organ index as evaluation indexex. Discussed the effect of selenium deficiency on chicken intestinal mechanical barrier using the changes of morphological structure and amount of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes as evaluation indexex. Discussed the effect of selenium deficiency on chicken intestinal mucosal immune barrier using the change of GSH-PX,SIgA and immunoglobulin in serum and intestines as evaluation indexex.The results indicate that the selenium deficiency group decreased daily gain, feed gain ratio, immune organ index and intestinal wet weight(p<0.05),especially spleen index and jejunum wet weight vary significantly(p<0.01); muscular thickness, mucosal thickness, length and width of villus ,crypt depth decreased in vary degree in selenium deficiency group(p<0.05),especially duodenum and jejunum mucosal morphological structure change siginificantly(p<0.01);the selenium deficiency group decrease amount of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes ,and jejunum intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes decrease significantly(p<0.05); the selenium deficiency group decreased the expression of GSH-PX,and the change were significant at 30 d and 40 d (p<0.05); the secretion of IgA, IgG, IgM and SIgA decraesed significantly(p<0.05). These trial index change show time-effect relationship.Selenium deficiency influenced growth performance through decreasing daily gain ,feed gain ratio, immune organ index; selenium deficiency decreased intestinal muscular thickness, mucosal thickness, length and width of villus ,crypt depth in different degree,selenium deficency decreased the amount of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes,thus selenium deficency influence intestinal mechanical barrier;selenium deficiency influenced intestinal immune barrier through decreasingd the secretion of GSH-PX,IgA, IgG, IgM and SIgA .In a word, selenium deficiency can reduce immunity of chicken intestinal mucosal immunity through influenced growth performance, intestinal mechanical barrier and immune barrier.
