| Since the "Natural Virgin Forest Protecetion Project", our country has been importing around 300 different kinds of timber from more than 60 countries, and yet it has a yearly growing tendency, therefore making use of imported timber effectively became more and more important. Currently we already have books and documentations related on international traded timber's wood properties, but we lack quantitative measurement and further analysis on the visual surface properties of the imported timber that are commonly used in China. For that reason this thesis chose around 250 varieties of trees to measure surface colors and luster. Classify all the trees by their growth region to investigate the wood color distribution law of each region, discuss the regional effect factor to wood color on that basis.With the growing of digital-imaging technology and widespread use in the area of wood-processing,produce,identification etc. The thesis also introduced a new method of measuring surface color based digital-imaging technology. This method uses scanner to scan a digital image of wood's surface, then measure its color value in photoshop, apply regression analysis to the computer obtained measurements and spectrophotometer obtained measurements to build a regression equation, through this model we can forecast the approximative value to actual wood color by only measuring the digital image.Date base retrieval system with its aspects of fast,efficient,accurate,convenient,etc. has been widely used in the area of wood information retrieval and identification. The thesis analyzed and studied the current status quo of world commercial timber, took commonly used imported timbers in China as research object to collect and organize a large amount of information. The thesis contains a retrieval system of commonly imported wood by China established by using Delphi and Access. The system collected 60 families 370 kinds of wood samples from different regions all over the world, individual information contains:name; macro and micro characteristics, the physical, mechanics and machining properties; visual physical property of surface; habitat and purpose of use; growing environment; etc. Also contains pictures of raw wood; cross section; sample and micro anatomical image etc. The system provides multi-different query method. Under the situation of multiple conditions in fuzzy indexing, for the convenience of users, each input box has a pull-down menu of which provides alternative conditions. Of course you can input key words according to the need. In order to provides a better information service to users on wood-study, education, production and operation etc. The system provides Data Maintenance Function through which you can add and edit at any time to keep the system updated and more comprehensive. |
