In this research, the polymorphisms of rabbit MSTN gene and the relationship between the polymorphisms of rabbit MSTN gene and production trait in 230 rabbits including Harbin white rabbits, Tianfu black rabbits, Belgium rabbits, ZIKA rabbits and California rabbits were detected by PCR-SSCP test with 5 different pairs of primers. The results showed that:2 SNPs including SNP+194(C→T) and SNP+445(T→A) was studied by PCR-SSCP in 6 rabbit. It is showed that 2 allele (denoted as A and B) and 3 genotype (denoted as AA, AB, BB)was detected in 194bp site, PIC value of ZIKA rabbit was lower than 0.25,is low polymorphism, the rest is moderate polymorphism.2 allele(denoted as M and N) and 3 genotype(denoted as MM, MN, NN) was detected in 445bp site, PIC value of six group was higher than 0.25, is moderate polymorphism.Though the six breeds of Production traits of a comparative analysis, variety effection was significantly associated with Production Trait. ZIKA rabbits had the highest 135-day-old weight, and California rabbits had the lowest 135-day-old weight, was highly significantly lower than that of the other five breeds (P<0.01). The eviscerated weight of ZIKA rabbits and Tianfu black rabbits were significantly higher than that of the other four breeds (P<0.05).GLM analysis for the effect of genotypes on performance traits demonstrated that SNP+194 AA genotypes had the highest efficiency of 135-day-old weight, slaughter efficiency and cooking loss (P<0.05). At locus SNP+445, the NN genotypes had the highest efficiency of eviscerated weight, slaughter efficiency and cooking loss (P<0.05). AANN haplotype combination had the highest efficiency of 135-day-old weight, slaughter efficiency and eviscerated weight(P<0.05).The results showed that the mutation at position 194,445 have significant influence on 135-day-old weight, slaughter efficiency, eviscerated weight and cooking loss. The above 2 sites have the possibility of a rabbit growth and carcass traits of the genetic marker-assisted selection tags.
