Eradication Of Pseudorabies Disease In Large Program Pigfarms

Pseudorabies is an acute and in most cases fatal disease caused by pseudorabies virus infection in swine and other domestic and wild animals.Our research is divided into two parts:First, we detect PRVgPI antibodies in 5 pig breeding stations with IDEXX kit in 2007, and in 2008 we used Ingelvac(?)Aujeszky MLV four times to vaccinate pigs after slaughtering the serologically positive pigs. The immunize process:all pigs were vaccinated three times with vaccines from Boehringer Ingelheim. The serum were later collected and tested for gPI antibody. When the serologically positive rate reached lower than 15% in sows and 20% in fattening swines, the seropositive pigs were slaughtered, and seronegative sows were introduced in and regular immune procedure was conducted together with biosafe management such as disinfection and eradication of mice. Second, through statically analysis, the immune state, control and eradication of PR were concluded in our province.After strict decontamination of infected premises, keep on vaccine virus immunization, and strict biosecurity measure:we have successfully eradicated all breeders in all 4 farms. The wild pseudorabies virus positive rates have been reduced from 1% to 0 in farm A,0.3% to 0 in farm B,20% to 0 in farm C and 19% to 0 in farm D.
