AM fungi has promotion at every stage of plant growth and development, and it has an important and widespread ecological role in nature, so it is significant to study the interaction between AM and plants. This paper studies the effect on mycorrhizal infection and growth treated by trigonelline, flavonoid (hesperitin and apigenin)on maize inoculated with AM fungi. The results showed that when treated by trigonelline, hesperitin and apigenin, the mycorrhizal infection to maize inoculated with AM fungi was increased significantly. Therefore, trigonelline has been suggested as arbuscular mycorrhizal signalling compounds to promote recognitions between plants and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi as flavonoid. The root activity of maize was promoted greatly by trigonelline and flavonoid too.Fresh weigh, chlorophyll contents, soluble sugar and phosphorus, nitrogen contents in maize seedlings were also increased by application of trigonelline and flavonoid. Chlorophyll contents in maize was promoted the best greatly by trigonelline and flavonoid. Chlorophyll contents in maize which was treated with trigonelline was 2~3 times of control, chlorophyll contents in maize with AM fungus in which was treated with flavonoid (hesperitin, apigenin) was 1 times of control. Soluble sugar content, fresh weight in maize seedlings inoculated with AM fungi in was significantly increased,42d day of sampling, treated with 100nmol/L trigonelline, fresh weight and soluble sugar content increased significantly compared with the control. Application of trigonelline and flavonoid on maize seedlings, aerial part and root's phosphorus and nitrogen content was increased significantly. Application 100nmol/L trigonelline on maize seedlings inoculated with AM fungi in aerial part and root's phosphorus and nitrogen content significantly increased.Compared with the control, aerial part P content increased 15%~40%, root P content increased 4.3% 58.3%, aerial part N content increased 11.8%~28.3%, root N content increased 14.4%~21.6%. Application 150nmol/L flavonoids on maize seedlings inoculated with AM fungi in aerial part and root's nitrogen, phosphorus content is also significantly enhanced, compared to control aerial part P content increased 15.7%~42.5%; root P content increased 5.9% to 41.8%; aerial part nitrogen content increased 10.7%~22.1%; root nitrogen content increased 7.2%~18.1%. The results showed that the promotion degree of P is higher than that of N. Mycorrhizal infection rate was promoted greatly by trigonelline and, at the same time, absorptions of phosphorus and nitrogen in maize are further promoted.
