Purpose: To examine the usefulness of IACT basing on amnion membrane and merely IACT on reconstructing conjunctival structure and function in bilateral large area conjunctiva earlier period alkali burns and provide evidences on theory and practice for rebuilding ocular surface. Method: New zealand white rabbits were divided into two groups randomly: donor group and receptor group. Bilateral superior ball conjunctiva were ixrned by alkali about 18mm X 8mm in receptor group. The forth day after burning, the left eye was undertaken AMT(Exps) meanwhile the right was done merely IACT (Cons). About ten days after burning, the right eye was performed IACT basing on amnion membrane. After surgery ,the information of bilateral allografts on color. oedema~ clarity~ dissolutions exclusions suture. hyperemia scar was recorded at every times. PAS.. SEM and TEM of CI were performed on both eyes and compared with conjunctival tissue?PAS at the same time. Result: 1. In Exps obvious rejection was not observed, all grafts lived and extended to surrounding, appearance was similar to normal conjunctiva at the fifth week after surgery; In Cons obvious rejection was found at the second week, six allografts were excluded severely and fallen off, symblepharon was formed at last. The other eighteen allografts lived and appearance was similar to normal conjunctiva at the fifth week. The survival rate between two groups showed significant difference(P
