the Research on how Qingxiang Powder Acts on Gastrointestinal Tract Function and Oxidation Resistance of Damp-heat SyndromeMaster Graduate Student, Grade 98:Liu De ChuanTutor of Master Graduate Student: Wu Shi JiuAbstractDamp-heat syndrome is made up of some acute diseases caused by damp heat which is an exogenous pathogenic factor.It begins onset of desease in long summer.Its primary symptoms are fever, tiredness, distention in chest and epigastrium,white and greasy tongue fur,slow pulse,etc.As an infectious desease in modem medicine,it is often seen in clinic.It is very significant to study the essences of damp-heat syndrome and the mechanism of dispelling damp heat through creating a damp-heat syndrome animal model.Methods:There were four experimental groups:normal control group, damp-heat syndrome model group,Qingxiang Powder prevension group and Qingxiang Powder treatment group. Damp-heat syndrome animal model was created with a comprehensive method of fodders rich of sugar and fat, circumstance of high damp and temperature,pouring typhoid bacillus into stomach. HE staining method was used to observe stomach and small intestine's pathological changes. Serum gastrin was detected with radioimmunity.Absorptivity of D-xylose,activity of blood GSH-Px,content of serum NO were detected with colorimetry. Qingxiang Powder was used to prevent and treat damp-heat syndrome rats to explore its actual machanism.-4-Results: Daxnp-heat syndrome model grouP fats aPpeard thesesymPtoms: fever(3 9 'C ),ti redne s s, puff hai t, inaPpetence, loose sto o l ctc. Manylymphocytes infilMd their stomach and small intestine tissues.Absorptivity of D-xylose,activity of blood GSH-Px,conient of serurngastrin and NO notably decreased(p<0.05). Qingxiang PoWder prevensiongrouP rats aPNd the sytnptoms similar to Darnp-heat syndrome modelgrouP rats,bllt the gastfointestinal tfact inflanunation was lighter thandam-heat syndrme model group rats.Their Absorptivity of D-xylose,activity of blood GSH-Px,content of serum gastrin and NO were lower thanthose of normal cofitrOl grouP rats,but they were higher than those ofdamp-heat syndrme model group rats.The syInptOms of Qingxiang PowdertreatInent grouP rats disaPpeared after they were treated with QingxiangpoWdeLTheir absorptivity of D-xylose,activity of blood GSH-Px,contellt ofserum gastrin and NO were notably higher than those of damp-heat syndromemodel grouP rats(P<0.0l),increasing to the levels near tO those of normalcontrol gnun rats (p>0. 05).Conclu8ion8: OThe method,creating damp-heat syndrome animalmodel with comPrehensive factors of fodders rich of sugar andfat,circumStanee of high damP and temperatUre, pouring mphoid bacillus intostomach,was successful. @The essences of damp-hcat syndrQme arethOugh of as abnormality of gastrointestinal tract's function and unbalance ofoxidaion and atioxidation system .There were extensive inflammation ingastfoiniestinal tracts of damp-heat syndrome model f8ts. Absorptivity ofD-xylose,activity of blood GSH-Px,conteat of serurn gastfin and NO notablydecreased. @ Qingxiang powder could prevent and cure damp-heat- > -syndrome well.It could defervesce,dispel the symptomes of the rats and improve the levels of gastrin, D-xylose,GSH-Px and NO in blood.Its actual mechanism is related to improve digest fi.inctions and antioxidation abilities.
