Physician XingXiujiABSTRACT' Objcctive: TO investigate the immunohistochemical study inenduring diarrhea with spleen-stomach damp-heat.Mcthods: 65 enduring diarrhea (chronic colitis) patients werese1ected as research subjects.According to the differentiation standards ofdiarrhea of TCM 34 cases belonged to spleen-stomach damp-heat(SSDH)group, 3l cases belonged to spleen-stomach qi vacujty (SSQV) group,and 1l healthy persons as control group.All of them have colonoscopecheck and 3-6 pieces of colon mucosa was taken as sample.Theexpression of p l6 protein and TGF- a in colon mucosa were determinedby immunohistochemical method.ResuIts: Between SSDH and SSQV,there is different colonoscopemirror image (p<0.0l).The number of monocyte in HE staining colonmucosa of SSDH is 32.83 f 7.0l in every visual field, mark1y higher thanthat of SSQV(17.7l t 4.79, P<0.0l), and that of control grouP(l4.09 t5.09, p<0.0l). No significant ditTerence were tbund in the lattergroup.The expression of pl6 protein and TGF- a in colon mucosahave obviousIy difference beboen SSDH and SSQV The positive rateSof pl6 protein expression in SSDH group,SSQV group,control grouPwere l7.65%. 4l.94%. 63.64%.The TGF- a were 52.94%. 25.8l%.l9.O9%~ The positive rate of p16 was positively correlated to that of TGF-a.Conclusion:(1). Inflammation is more severe in SSDH group.(2).The expression of p16 protein and TGF- a in colon mucosa have obviously difference between SSDH and SSQV. The expression of p16 in SSQV group , control group is higher than that of SSDH group.Whereas the expression of TGF- a in SSDH group is markly higher than that of SSQV group ,control group. (3).It elucidate that the SSDH group and SSQV group have different immune situation.The positive rate of p16 was positively correlated to that of TGF- a .(4).P16 and TGF- a may play a role in the cell-cycle, eventually influence the diarrhea procedure.The excatly mechanism is still not clear. (5).P1 6 1TGF- a may serve as a reference index on monitoring the diarrhea procedure.
