Primary liver cancer (PLC) is a major malignant tumor which is harmful to our health. The incidence of PLC is about 300,000 to 1,000,000 per year on earth. The distribution of PLC is significant region difference. China belongs to one of the highest incidence area. There is about 260,000 exposure to PLC in our country and about 110,000 dying from it every year. The mortality of PLC occupies the first or second site of malignant tumor. As we know, the onset of PLC is latent. Once the symptom can be found, the course of PLC usually belonged to meta-later phase and the nature survival time was about three months. It is important to improve the prognosis of PLC especially in meta-later phase. Some literatures showed the recurrence of post-operation is over 60%, even the small PLC which diameter is less than 5cm is 400紃-扴O%. To solve the recurrence of post-operation is the major problem too. Although the long-term survival rate was prolonged by developing of study with base and clinic, improving the diagnosis, improving the technique of surgery and various therapy, but it should be improved more. Some scholars think that hepatic resection is the most important factor which effects the prognosis of PLC. Radical 6 resection looks as the first selection for treating PLC and it is also thought as the only one which can cure PLC. Liver transplantation is an another way which can cure PLC. But liver transplantation isn抰 the first selection for PLC because of economy, donor, rejection, and so on. As we know, the patients usually are in meta-later phase and following with cirrhosis of liver when they diagnose as PLC. The rate operation is only 2O0/o?O%. To apply multimode treatment is the most important thing for inoperable patients. Some reports show that transcaiheter hepatic artery chemoembolization (TACE) or two-stage operation after TACE is the important way for those patients. And the other拁ays such as percutaneous ethanol inject therapy (PEI), cryotherapy, microwave application, drug delivery system(DDS), and chemiotherapy should be research later. Aims In order to research the factors which effect ~the prognosis of PLC including combined therapy, tumor emboli in portal vein, size of tumor, number of tumor, AFP, ALT, HBsAg, grade of Child and so on. To screen the independence factors which can effect the prognosis of PLC and to create an equation for evaluation the prognosis. And in order to preliminary assessment of various therapies. Method and Statistics We used FoxPro 5.0 to create a data and follow-up of the patients who were diagnosed as PLC in our hospital from the 1~ January,l994 to the 3O~?June,2000. (420 cases, female 72 cases, male 348 cases). And we dealt with data by Microsoft Excel and SSPS I 0.0. The statistics included life table, Log-rank test, Breslow test, Wilcoxon (Gehan) test, Chi-squared test, Fisher抯 test, Cox regression and so on. 7 Results Our data showed that the 1, 3, 5 years survival rate was 33.43%, 15.83%, 11.58% and in radical resection group that was 72.18%, 43.59%, 38.14%. Simple factor analysis displayed th...
