Clinical Significance Of Urinary Hydroxyproline In Bone Metastases Neoplasm

Objective To inspect and analysis the significance of urinary hydroxyproline(uHOP) in the evaluation of prognosis,response to therapy of bone metastasis neoplasm.Methods Subjects divided into Group A with 35 healthy adult people ,Group B with 20 primary tumor patients not bone metastasis neoplasm proofed by x-ray or emission computer tomography ( ECT). Group C with 20 bone metastasis proofed by x-ray or ECT. Measurement of uHOP were made by test kit of uHOP,while measurement of activity of serum alkaline phosphatases(AKP) and calcium concentration. Result There were no significant difference of uHOP between Group A and Group B (p>0.05). There were significant difference of uHOP between Group A and Group B,Group C (p<0.01). There were significant difference of uHOP between protherapy and posttherapy. The rising rate of uHOP ,AKP and plasma calcium concentration was 85%,40% and 35%. Conclusions Hop is a specifically sensitive maker of bone collagen turnover. UHOP has positive correlation with bone metastasis neoplasm,markedly increasing while extensive bone collagen breakdown ,more sensitive than activity of serum AKP and plasma calcium concentration,and changes prior to x-ray. Therefore,uHOP has value in differentiating and monitoring bone metastasis neoplasm,and one of early objective measurement methods in evaluation of prognosis response to therapy of bone metastasis neoplasm.Liu Daojun (orthopedics surgery) Directed by Prof. Hua Jinming...
