This article guided by the Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, joining the progress of modern medical science researches, observes the clinical performance of hyperplasia of mammary glands(HMG) and studies the clinical relationship between HMG and nipple discharge (ND). There are totally 445 cases of patients of HMG are observed here, and they are divided into two groups according to whether having ND: the nipple discharge group (ND group) with 113 cases, and the no nipple discharge group (NND group) with 332 cases. In observation we find that the cases of ND group get older average age, longer disease process, more complicated clinical performance, more breast sharp pain, and more cystic imaging by B Ultrasonography (P<0.05),compared with the ones of NND group. So we conclude that the patients with ND mostly suffer from cystic HMG, and the possibility of cancer is greater. In the observation to the cases of ND group, it is discovered that ND is distributed with many bores mostly, the liquid looks like milk or water mostly, and its main compositions contain white cell, organic cell and fat drop. At the same time, according to the performance that most of ND cases are accompanied with fidgety temperament, languid tired, breast ache and dropsy, irregular menses etc. we conclude that the main pathogenesis of this disease is the stagnation of the liver-qi, deficiency of the spleen and kidney, the imbalance of chong-ren. So it is put forward that the therapy principle should be relieving the depressed liver, strengthening the spleen, benefiting the kidney and balancing the chong-ren.
