The Study Of Animal Experiment And Clinic Observation On Combination Of TCM And Western Medicine Treating Avascular Necrosis Of Femoral Head

Objects To confirm more effective treatment of avascular necrosis of femoral head (ANFH) by combination of TCM and western medicine through animal expriment and clinic observation. To investigate the pathogenesis of ANFH. Methods 25 New Zealand white rabbits were divided into four groups: normal, model, operation and operation plus herb of activating blood stasis and reinforcing kidney. The models were producted by injecting horse blood serum and methylprednisolone. The bone histo-morphologic, serum lipids and hemorheology indications were observed in the study. Results The method of operation plus herb of activating blood stasis, reinforcing kidney and strong bone is effective in preventing the development of ANFH. The effect is better than that of single operation. Conclusions The operation plus herb of activating blood stasis, reinforcing kidney and strong bone is a reasonable treatment of ANFH.
