Systematical research of the compound prescription of Chinese medicine, which had clinical practices for many years and accurate effects, has been performed in the study. In terms of document retrievals and initial experiments, the extraction technology of Panax ginseng C. A. Mey. and Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. was determined by orthogonal test. The extration was refined using macroporous resin, the active constitutent of Asarum heterotropoides Fr. Schmidt var. mandshuricum (Maxim) Kitag. was screened by pharmacological testing, then the extract was mixed and concentrated, then preparated the dropping pills with PEG. The factors such as dropping temperature, speed and ratio of PEG4000/PEG6000 were examed by orthogonal test. The quality standards of the pills were established. The Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. and Asarum heterotropoides Fr. Schmidt var. mandshuricum (Maxim) Kitag. were identified by TLC. Ginsenoside Rgi and Re were quantitatively analyzed by HPLC. Moreover, we have explored the beneficial effect of xinbitong on myocardial infarction by the animal experiments as follows: the left anterior descending coronary artery of mice was ligated and as rat myocardial infarction model; the tolerance of mice to hypoxia been observed, and toxicologic study and maximum capacity were also established in this study. The preliminary clinical observations have proved the obviously therapeutic effectiveness in 14 cases.
