Objective: To study the distinctive change of different peroxidized low density lipoprotein(OX-LDL) in the blood of arteriosclerotic disease(As) and lung cancer(Ca). To investigate the correlation of different OX-LDL in As and Ca. To explore new theories and methods of tumor and As on clinical therapy. Materials and method: Objects were divided into three groups: (1) patients of diagnosed as lung cancer—(Ca) group, (2) patients combined arteriosclerosis with diabetes mellitus — (As) group, (3) 20 healthy university students — (control) group. In the morning, we took 16ml blood from every objects before eating and added ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA) (terminal concentration=0.05mmol/L).After anticoagulant and antioxidant process, separated and distiled the plasm, and Preserved it in 0℃ refrigerator. With ultracentrifuge method low density lipoprotein(L-LDL) and high density lipoprotein(H-LDL) from the plasm, and concent of peroxidized lipoprotein inside of the L-LDL were checked out. By radioimmunoassay(RIA), contents of super oxidized dismutase(SOD) was checked out, by thinlayer chromatography checked out the top line positions and the rough concentrations of OX-LDL. Results: (1)The average contents of OX-LDL in Ca group is higher than control group(P<0.05). In As group, it was significantly higher than control group(p<0.01), contents of OX-LDL had no statistics value between Ca group and As group. (2) In the RIA, the distribution of Ca group and As group versus control group were different. There were statistics value between Ca group, As group and control group. But there weren't the statistics meaning between Ca group and As group. Conclusions: (1)The character of OX-LDL in Ca group and As group is that their metabolic rates are higher than control group, and the amount of combination intaking and decomposing of OX-LDL is higher too. Increase of OX-LDL is one of the factors which induce or strengthen disease.(2)OX-LDL has distinctive change in the formation of lung cancer and diabetes mellitus. It suggests that there are different mechanisms in their creation.
