Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Lumbar Disc Herniation With Haimaquanxie Pill And Its Acute Toxicity Trial

Objective: To evaluate the clinical curative effect of Haimaquanxie pill on lumbar disc Herniation and to discuss its mechanism and whether it has acute toxicity by systematic clinical observation and experiment.Methods: (1) Sixty cases of patients were divided randomly into the control group and the treatment group, the former was treated with Haimaquanxie pill and the latter with Yaotongning capsule.A comparative study on clinical curative effect between the control group and the treatment group was conducted by examing the main symptoms before and after the treatment in each group. (2)We selected many clearing grade mouse, conducted acute toxicity trial with the suspension of Haimaquanxie pill.At first, we gave 50% lethal dose ( LD50),and, if not possible to estimate the LD50, estimated the maximum tolerance dose( MTD). Results:(1) Clinical observation showed: Haimaquanxie pill improved waist and leg's pain,walking condition,straight leg rate,sensation and muscle force of lumbar disc herniation patients;the action of alleviating waist and leg'pain was relatively quick; the curative effect was obviously superior to the control group. (2)It was unable to estimate the LD50, the MTD of mouse was 60.0 g patent medicine per one kg body weight ,according to body weight, the dosage was 280 times the commonly used dosage a day corresponding to an adult of 70kg.according to body surface area, the dosage was 30.8 times the commonly used dosage a day corresponding to an adult of 70kg, indicating the drug may be safely used in clinic. Conclusion: Haimaquanxie pill can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of lumbar disc herniation, ameliorate quality of life, and its clinical use is safe.
