Background: The peak bone mass (PBM) is the most mass in telophase of mature stage of human. It is a period that bone is the most solidest which has the most bone mineral content. There is about 20% individual difference of PBM. 60%-80% of the difference was determined by genetic factors, but the environmental factors also were one of the important factors that would not be ignored. 20%-40% of the difference of PBM was determined by the environmental factors. The environmental factors mainly have nutrition, individual living habit, health and hormones level et al. Criteria of osteoporosis in China was 2.0SD of PBM. Fu Zhou was located in the southeast coastal areas of China where were not entirely similar to the other regions. So it is important to establish own criteria of OP.Objective: To determine the age to form PBM of proximal-forearm of people in Fu Zhou and to discuss the environmental factors influencing PBM and BMD, then to provide epidemiology evidence for establishing the diagnose standard of OP and preventing OP.Methods: BMD of 246 people aged 25 to 45 was measured by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry and other data were collected according to the questionnaires. One-way ANOVA, T-test and multi-variable regression analysis were applied in this study. Results: (1) BMD of male proximal-forearm in groups of 25- 30- 35-40- was separately 0.525±0.0560 g/cm2 0.577 ± 0.061 g/cm2 0.571±0.085 g/cm2 0.530±0.068 g/cm2 ; BMD of female proximal-forearm in groups of 25~ 30~ 35~ 40~ was separately 0.438±0.060 g/cm2 0.496±0.037 g/cm2 0.489±0.056 g/cm2 , 0.448±0.060 g/cm2 BMD of proximal-forearm in the group of 30~ was significantly higher than that of 25~ and 40~ year old of the same sex. (2) The bone mass density in people whose body mass index (BMI) >24 was significantly higher than that of BMI <20 in the same age group among people more than 35 years old. (3) The bone density in people who consuming plenty of dairy products and dark green vegetables was significantly higher than those consuming few. (4) The bone density in people consuming plenty of fishshelf products in groups of 25- and 30- year old was significantly higher than those consuming insufficiently. (5) The bone density in people consuming full of meat products was significantly lower than those consuming little in groups of 35- and 40- year old, the same as the male drinker and smoker. (6) The bone density in people sporting was significantly than those not sporting in groups of 25- and 30- year old and BMD of the people of sport intension grade 2 was significantly higher than that of grade 1.Conclusion: PBM of male (30~) was 0.577±0.061 g/cm2 and PBM of female (30-) was 0.496 ±0.037g/cm2 . Adequate body weight would benefit to the increase of BMD. High calcium intake and weight-burdening sporting were beneficial to the increase of PBM. IT was negatively who has interest in meat products intake, smoke and drink after the formation of PBM.
