Objective:To study the effect of iontophoresis with TongBi solution in the intervention of postlaminectomy fibrosis.Method:45 rabbits were established as the experimental models undergoing L5 laminectomy, and 1.2cm×0.5cm dura mater was exposed.All laminectomy levels were randomly divided into three groups.Blank control group (BC Group), 0.9%sodium chloride group(SC group)(iontophoresis with 0.9% sodium chloride treating). TongBi solution group(TB group)(iontophoresis with TongBi solution ).At 3rd, 5th and 8th weeks,the samples were obtained for naked eye and histological examination, the images were analysed by computer, and the contents of hydroxyprdine were detected.Result: In the 3rd week, no obvious adhesion formed in each group (P>0.05). In the 5th week, peridural adhesion was formed and extended to side in the BC and SC group, Little fibroscar was found and its construction was loosen in the TB group(P<0.05). In the 8th week, severe peridural adhesion was formed, and fibroscar extended to nerve root in the BC group, less adhesion formed in the SC group, no obvious adhesionformed in the TB group(P<0.05).In the 3rd week, inflammatory reaction was obviously, plenty of blood vessel and fibroblast in the BC group. In the SC and TB group, inflammafory reaction and fibroblast were less than BC group, the difference was significant (P<0.01). In the 5th week, collagen fibers were increasing, capillaries were reductive, adhesion was obviously in the BC and SC group, Infalammatory reaction was relieve, less adhesion in TB group, the difference in the TB group and BC and SC group was significant(P<0.01). In the 8th week, the area of fibroscar was reduced, adhesion were severe peridural in the BC group, collagen fibers were severe peridural, adhesion were obviously in the SC group, inflammatory reaction were disappear, the interspace of epidural was existent in the TB group. The difference in the BC and SC and TB group were significant(P<0.05).In the 3rd week, the contents of hydroxyprdine in three groups were not different (P>0.05). In the 5th week, the contents of hydroxyprdine were remarkable difference between BC group and SC and TB group(P<0.05). In the 8th week, the contents of hydroxyprdine were remarkable difference between TB group and BC and SC group(P<0.01). In the 3rd, 5th and 8th week, the contents of hydroxyprdine were increasingly in the BC and SC group(P<0.05), The increase of TB group in the contents of hydroxyprdine was not statistics significance.Conclusion: Through the traditional Chinese medicine molecul and low frequencey pulse colligation, iontophoresis with TongBi solution could reduce scar formation, loosen fibroscar and inhibit the formation of collagen. The method of iontophoresis with TongBi solution was effectivein intervention of postlaminectomy fibrosis.
