| Along with aging, arteriosclerosis gradually become serious. Some investigation indicat that pulse pressure (PP) is one of the independent risk factor of heart envents, and is the indicatrix to indicat sclerosis of blood vessels. Pulse pressure index (PPI) is also one of the indicatrix to evaluate the compliance of blood vessel similar with PP, and keep highly concordance with PP. For the past few years, ultrasound possess determinate clinical significance to evaluate the compliance of large artery. It can offer evaluable data of clinical diagnosis about angiosclerosis. The compliance of aorta is more effective in all artery, so the compliance value of large artery is a valuable index to estimate the degree of the functional lesion in artery.In our study,we measure the ascending aorta dimension of healthy people with Doppler echocardiograph, and measure their blood pressure, pulse pressure, pulse pressure index, study the relationship between aging and pulse pressure index, ascending aorta dimension in healthy people.Methods1. Subject204 healthy middle old aged people , without the histories of cardiac pulmonary and cerebral diseases et al, were up to standard after the inquire, medical examination, then have blood biochemistry exam, electrocardiogram and X-ray of chest et al. All the result of them is normal. They were divided into 4 group, A group(30 ~44y) ,B group(45 ~59y) ,C group(60 ~74y) ,D group(>75y)2. Methods3.1 Measurement of blood pressureSubject is no smoking in half a hour,rest more than 15 min in peaceful condition. Measure the blood pressure according to Krotkoff 5 stage, the difference between systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure is pluse pressure, and the ratio of PP to SBP is PPL3. 2 Measurement of ascending aorta dimensionUse HP 5500 color Doppler echocardiograph, measure the value of ascending aorta dimension.3. 3 Statistical analysisThe results were analyzed by T test, variance analysis, correlation analysis , linear correlation and regression analysis by SPSS 10.0 statistical software.Results1. Comparison of BMI, TC, TG, GLU, HDL, LDL in different age group ( see Tabl)We can see from Tab 1 ,the difference of TG,HDL,LDL is significance in defferent age group; but the difference of GLU, BMI, TC is nonsignificance in defferent age group.2. Comparison of BP, P, PPI, Ad in different age group ( see Tab 2 )We can see from Tab 2, to compare with age group 30 ~ 44, the difference of SBP,PP, PPI, DBP in defferent age group is significance. Ad in defferent age group show ascending tendency,but there is nonsignificance between the first three groups,the difference between them and >75 years old group is significance.3. Comparison of BP,PP,PPI,Ad in male and female (see Tab 3)We can see from Tab 3, Ad show ascending tendency with aging,but there is no significance between different age group in male, there is significance be-tween >75 years old group and other age groups, we can also see from Tab 3, PP,PPI show ascending tendency with aging,there is significance between age group 30 ~44 and age group 60 ~74 , >75 years old group. There is nonsignif-icance between male and female in the same age group.4. Associativity between aging and BP,PP,PPI,Ad(see Tab 4) We can see from Tab 4, SBP, PP, PPI, Ad is positive correlation with aging, and DBP is negative correlation with aging.DiscussionIn large artery, aging induce calcium salt deposit, elastin injured and break, at the same time the amount of collagen fibers and the formation of cross link increasing, accordingly lead to the chang of compliance in vessel wall.
