Objective: To explore the role of CD62p in the development of aorta lesion in type 2 diabetic rats. Methods: Wister rats were randomly divided into normal control group(A), enriching-fat-diet feeding control group(B) and diabetes control group(C) .At 4, 14 and 24 weeks ,the early changes of aorta were examined using light microscope and transmission electron microscope. Computorized image processing was employed to measure the aorta intima-media thickness(IMT) .Flow cytometric analysis was applied to detect the expression of CD62p on the surface of platelet isolated from the systemic circulation .Plasma OX-LDL concentration was measured by ELISA.Result: The early stages of aorta lesion occurred in the diabetic rats at 14 weeks . The increased expression of CD62p was observed at 4 weeks ,and C group was consistently greater than A and B group ,while B group greater than A (p<0.05) .The aorta intima-media thickness was correlated positively with theexpression of CD62p (r=0.7).Conclusion: The increased expression of CD62p occurred before visible aorta pathological changes,CD62p maybe play an important role in the progression of diabetic aorta lesion. It can be used as an early figure to predict diabetic aorta lesion.
