Objective: To assess the association between the platelet glycoprotein a2b1 C807T gene polymorphism with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods: This case-control study includes 156 patients with cerebral ischemia and 94 patients and health people without vascular disease. SS-PCR was performed to detect the polymorphism of C807T. Results were statistical evaluated with Chi-Square, Binary Logistic regression and multiple Logistic regression. Results: A marked relationship was found between C807T and ischemic cerebrovascular disease, T807 allele is a risk factor, especially within female, hypertention, smoking group, but it is not a independent risk factor. Conclusion: The platelet glycoprotein a2b1 C807T gene polymorphism may be a risk factor to ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
