On local war condition of modern high technology, to enhance the saving level of injury, every nation is laying emphasis on the first-aid technique, hemostasia may be the most urgent step during the succor of the battle injury. "10 minutes" after injury has been regarded as the most precious period during the saving of injured patients. Up to now, all kinds of conventional hemostasia methods and drugs can't meet the need in wartime, especially in the treatment of bleeding result from the injuries of big blood vessels and parenchymal organs such as liver and spleen. In the world, USA has achieved the greatest advance. It has been reported that an American company had developed a novel hemostasia bandage which had been tested on the treatments of swinish spleen, liver and artery injuries, the animal experiments demonstrated its good effects and has been approved to be applied in troops of USA. Dressing as an important materials for the treatment of battle injuries, plays an important role in protecting wound and saving soldiers' lives. An ideal dressing should be a material which can not only cover the wounds but also improve the rate and quality of thewound healing. Objective: In this research, we developed a novel hemostasia dressing which aims to own the following advantages: l.Good hemostasia effect, especially in the hemostasia of injury of artery and parenchymal organs; 2.Good biocompatibility, can accelerate the healing of the wound; 3.Easy to use, adapt to the application of self-aid and buddy-aid; Cheap, which can be furnished to troops at large scale. Methods: At first ,we roughly choose several raw materials based on the current hemostasia materials, then we selected the raw material for the novel dressing according to its physical characterizations, we selected gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol, chitosan as the major components of the novel dressings, and using freezing-drying technique as the method of the material fabrication. Further more, we optimize the proportion of the components of the dressing according to the characterizations of hemostasia. After determination of the fabrication process, the gelatin-PVA-chitosan complex was tested by animal experiments, we use collagen sponges , oxidized cellulose, gelatin sponges and gauze as control., investigate the hemostasia effect of this novel dressing when applied on the treatment of artery and parenchymal organ injuries. Moreover, we combined the dressing with active protein to fabricate a novel hemostasia material, and investigate its reparative effect on the defect of skin, which is expected to own properties of hemostasia and improving healing of wounds. Results: the complex fabricated by 5% gelatin, 5% PVA and 2%...
