Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL)is a malignant disease of immune system .The enlargement of cervical nodes is the first symptom in most patients .The disease progresses rapidly .In the late-stage ,all kinds of the organs can be infiltrated . Lymphatic gland ,spleen and bone marrow are the organs easiest to be infiltrated. Metastasis is the major cause of failure during clinical therapy . In recent years ,it has become a new field to research the urokinase-type plasminogen activator and angiogenesis in tumor metastasis. It is essential to study the mechanisms of tumor metastasis and to find effective prognosis parameters in order to increase the remission rate of NHL. Objective:To investigate the relationship of the change in fibrinolytic system and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) with the invasion and metastasis of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma . Methods : Thirty-eight patients of NHL ,including 24 male and14 female ,are from the Tumor Hospital of ShanXi .The ages are from 8 to 72,mean age is 40.Thirty healthy persons ,selected from physical examination, are control group including 18 male and12 female. The ages are from 15 to 55,mean age is 35. The levels of plasma uPA,uPA-R ,PAI-1 and VEGF were measured by enzyme linked--immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA).Compared the parameters with NHL group and the control group. Compared the parameters with different groups divided by clinical stage ,the level of plasma LDH and effect of treatment. Analyzed the correlation of uPA,uPA-R ,PAI-1,VEGF and LDH in patients of NHL. Results :The levels of plasma uPA,uPA-R ,PAI-1 and VEGF are remarkable higher in patients than the control group (P〈0.05). The levels of plasma uPA,uPA-R and VEGF in the group of III,IV clinical stage are higher than the group of I,II clinical stage, but have no significant difference(P>0.05);The level of serum VEGF is higher in the group of not CR than the group of CR (P<0.05),but the levels of plasma uPA,uPA-R and PAI-1 in the twe groups are not significant different(P>0.05);The level of plasma uPAR is higher in the group of non-normal level of plasma LDH than group of normal LDH level (P<0.05),but the levels of plasma uPA,PAI-1 and VEGF in the twe groups are not significant different(P>0.05);. The levels of plasma uPA , uPAR and LDH are significantlycorrelated each other(P<0.01). Conclusion: The change in fibrinolytic system and angiogenesis are important for tumor metastasis in patients of NHL. The level of plasma uPA-R can be used as the parameter of tumer load in patients of NHL. The levels of plasma uPA-R and serum VEGF can be used as prognosis parameters in patients of NHL .
