Aim: To investigate the clinical efficacy of treatment of Abdominal Acupuncture on spastic paralysis after stroke.Method: 60 patients were randomly divided into Abdominal Acupuncture group (treatment group, 30 patients) and traditional acupuncture group (control group, 30 patients ). After 28 days of treatment course, and by using ASS, CSI, Fug I-Meyer and ADL as assessment indexes, the improvements in muscle tone, motor function and self-caring ability were examined.Results:1. Two groups showed significant decreases in muscle tone after treatment (P<0. 001), but that the improvement in the treatment group is superior to that of the control group. (P<0. 001)2. The Fug I-Meyer scores in two groups were raised significantly after treatment (P<0. 01), and that it was more prominent in treatment group than in control group. (P<0.05)3. TheBI scores in two groups increased prominently after treatment (P<0. 001), and that in treatment group increased more than that in control group.Conclusion: Abdominal Acupuncture treatment may be an effective way in curing spastic paralysis after stroke.
