Objective To investigate the expression of CyclinD1 in breast cancer andevaluate its clinical significance, provide help to predict the prognosis and decide the choose of endocrine therapy.Material and Methods CyclinD1 were measured in 78 cases of breast cancertissues and 37 cases of benign disease by immunohistochemistry SP method using monoclonal antibody to their protein. Results The positive rate of CyclinD1 in breast cancer in different pathologicstage were 47.62%(G1),61.76%(G2) and 17.39%(G3) respectively. In benign disease they were 6/17 (35.29%, atypical ductal hyperplasia) and1/20 (5.00%,common breast disease) .There was difference of CyclinD1 between breast cancer and benign disease even the different pathologic stage. The expression of CyclinD1in breast cancer was significantly higher than that in benign disease. Their expression was not related to gender, position, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and tumor sides of the disease (P>0.05), but related to pathologic stage (P<0.01). Analysis the relationship of CyclinD1and estrogen receptor (ER), the positive rate of CyclinD1 in ER (+) tissue is higher than ER(-) tissue(P<0.05). Compare the groups of CyclinD1 (+) ER ( + ) and CyclinD1 ( + ) ER (-), X2=7.159, P<0.01, the difference is significant.Conclusion1 Overexpression of CyclinD1 may play an important role with differentiation and development of tumor. The expression of CyclinD1in breast cancer was related to pathologic stage.2 The high expression of CyclinD1 protein and positive expression of ER is highly identical in breast cancer. Its expression may be helpful to evaluate the response to endocrine therapy.
