Objective: To design a style of internal buttress plate for acetabular fractures ,which adapt to the structure and biomechanics of internal surface of acetabular wall; To introduce a new technique for treatment acetabular fracture with the new style of internal buttress plate.Methods: 1. The lengths of the arc of arcuate line of hipbone on 109 pairs (F58, M51) were measured. In addition, the distance between the center of the acetabulum and arcuate line and three vertical chords of the arcuate line between the points where each side 2 cm to the arcuate line at the middle of each one third arcuate line were also measured ,and the distance from the center of acetabulum to arcuate line is also measured. All the data and its radians were calculated by SPSS software. 2. To design the style of internal buttress plate according to the data by measuring and the biomechanics of acetabulum. 3. To compare the results of treatment for tow groups of acetabular fractures with common buttress plate and the new style buttress plate.Results: 1.The female and male average arc lengths(mm)are 57.71± 5.59 and 52.08±6.27,the radians(°) are 61.41±11.86 and 67.42±11.94 , transverse radians(°)of arcuate line are 111.16±12.37 and 111.14±21.09 in anterior third,106.81±14.60 and 109.58±16.50 in middle third, 138.00±16.60 and 144.46± 15.21 in posterior third.
