Objective: To study the effects of FFDGC on the disorders of glucoseand lipid in diabetic rats.Methods:Rats were injected with STZ50mg.kg-1(dissolved in 0.1mol.L-1 sodium citrate buffer,pH4.2)intraperitoneally after being fasted for 24h.Three days later,thefasting blood glucose(FBG) was measured.The rats were considered asdiabetes mellitus(DM) when FBG≥14.0mmol.L-1.Then DM rats were dividedinto 5 groups at random:model group,insulin group(1-2U.rat-1.d-1 iH.),FFDGC high dose group(2.4g.kg-1.d-1 ig.),FFDGC middle dose group(1.2g.kg-1.d-1 ig.)and FFDGC low dose group (0.6g.kg-1.d-1 ig.).Duringexperement,the FBG,HbA1c,TG,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C,FFA,Cr,UA,BUN,NO,T-AOCwere measured in different times.Results:FFGDC could decrease serumglucose after administration.The serum TG,LDL-C,FFA,Cr,BUN,UA and NOwere decreased,but the serum Alb,TP,T-AOC levels were increasedsignificantly(P<0.05-0.01) in the FFDGC-treated rats.The serumHDL-C,TC were not changed significantly compared with DM group.Theseeffects were related to the doses of the drug.Conclusion:The resultssuggest that FFDGC may decrease serum glucose,TG,LDL-C,BUN,Cr,UA andNO levels,increase serum ALb,TP,T-AOC levels and protect isletβcellsin STZ-induced diabetic rats,indicating that FFDGC may have value inDM complications.
