The active fractions were established by bacteriostatic: petroleum aether and ethyl acetate-soluble fraction. The antibacterial components of Urtica cannabina seeds have been pretested systematically by means of tube-test and means of thin layer chromatography(TLC). It contains hydroxylbenzene, coumarin, tannins, organic acid, etc. The activity of petroleum aether fraction has a power affect to urease activity of Escherichia coli, Staphalococcusau reus, Bacillus subtillis. The urease activity of three bacteria was restrained when concentration of extracts was 4mg/mL. The MIC of petroleum aether extracts against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtillis was 1.25mg/mL, and the MIC against Staphalococcusau reus was 2.5mg/mL. The extracted technics of hydroxylbenzene and coumarin for vast extraction were established by orthogonal design test: Urtica cannabina seeds should be extracted 3 times, every time 0.5h, with sextuple ethanol (95%). The fatty acids of Urtica cannabina seeds were analysed by GC-MS. Seven componds have been identified: hexadecanoic acid(1.37%), 6,9,12-octadecatrienoic acid(0.96%), Linoleic acid(37.60%), Oleic acid (3.64%), Octadecanoic acid(56.29%), Eicosanoic acid(0.31%), Docosanoic acid(0.27%). From seeds of Urtica cannabina , one compound which was isolated by chromatography on silica gel was tested to be C50H98O2.
