Objective : To study the expression of Survivin and cysteiny aspartate specific protease - 3(Caspase-3) in the normal mucosas(NOM), Oral leukoplakia (OLK),squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and their relationship with clinical pathologicl characteristics and to investigate their possible function in the development of OSCC. Methods:1. Adopt immunohistochemistry streptavidin-biotin peroxidase(S-P) method to investigate clinical cases of the 10 examples of NOM , 38 examples of OLK , and 52 examples of OSCC , to find the expression of Survivin and Caspase-3.2. Statistically analyze the expression of Survivin and Caspase-3 in NOM , OLK and OSCC, analyze Survivin and Caspase-3' s expressing and the relation among clinical stage of OSCC ,pathological grading and lymph node diversion , and the relation between Survivin and Caspase-3.Result :1. The expression of Survivin in normal oral mocosas is negative. The positivity rates of OLK without atypical hyperplasia is 21.4%(22/28), and that of OLK with atypical hyperplasia is 30%(3/10). Survivin was present in 39/52 cases (75%) of OSCC . The difference between non-cancer system and OSCC is of prominent significance(p < 0. 05) . The expression of Caspase-3 in normal oral mocosas is positivive. The positivity rates of OLK without atypical hyperplasia is 90. 0%(9/10), and...
