Objective:This study was designed to evaluate the expression of MDRi gene of MDR, P-gp, in the patients with bladder transitional cell cancer, and its relationship with the expression of apoptosis related protein p53, bcl-2 and the prognostic value of their co-expression in other prognostic factors which significantly influenced the disease free survival rate after surgical resection of primary BTCC(eg: clinical stage, lymph node,TNM grades,et al.).Methods :Using streptavidin-biotin peroxidase (S-P) method, the expression of diversity of P-gp, p53 and Bcl-2 protein ,between 30 normal bladder tissues and 100 bladder transitional cell cancer tissues with over 3 years follow-up of various pathological type and clinical stage, were closely studied.Results:1.The expression rate of P-gp in the 30 cases of normal bladder tissue was 20 %( 6 / 30 ),that in the 65 cases of primary BTCC was 61.5% (40/65 ), that in the 35 recurrent BTCC was 85.7 % ( 30 / 35 ). P-gp was highly expressed in bladder transitional cell cancer. A statistically significant differences of P-gp staining were observed between recurrence and non-recurrence ones as well as overall survival. Overexpression of P-gp was strongly related to the tumor grade but not the clinical stage and clinical materials.2.The expression rate of p53 and Bcl-2 in the 30 cases of normal bladder tissue was 6.7%(2/30), 13.3%(4/30) respectively; that in the 65...
