Studies On Chemical Constituens Of Bulbophyllum Odoratissimum And Mirabilis Jalapa

The thesis mainly reported studies on chemical constituents of Bulbophyllum odoratissimum and Mirabilis jalapa.In our studies for the search of new biological principles, Bulbophyllum odoratissimum and Mirabilis jalapa were investigated. Totally 23 compounds were extracted, isolated and identified.From the all herbs of Bulbophyllum odoratissimum, 18 compounds were isolated and their structures were elucidated by various spectrum (mainly 1HNMR, 13CNMR, NOESY, HMBC, H-H COSY, HMQC and MS) to be as 3,7-dihydroxy-2,4,6-trimethoxyphenanthrene (1), l,3',5',7-tetrahydroxy-4,7'-dimethoxy-9,9',10,10'-tetrahydro-2,2'-biphenanthrene (2), 3',4,5',7-tetrahydroxy-2,7'-dimethoxy-9,9', 10,10'-tetrahydro-l,2'-biphenanthrene (3), moscatin (4), 7-hydroxy-2,3,4-trimethoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (5), coelonin (6), 4,7-dihydroxy-2-methoxy-9,10-dihydro-phenanthrene (7), densiflorol B (8), 7-hydroxy-2,6-dimethoxy- phenanthraquinone (9), gigantol ( 10), batatasin III (11), tristin (12), bis (2',2"-diethylhexyl) phthalate (13), dibutyl phthalate (14), P-sitosterol (15), vanillic acid (16), syringaldehyde (17) and nonacosanoic acid (18). Compounds 1~ 3 were new compounds, and the others were first isolated from the herb. Bioassay test on compounds 4~ 6, 8, 10 and 11 showed that they possessed significant inhibitory activities against human leukemia cell line HL-60 and hepatocarcinogen cell line SMMC-7721 in vitro.From the roots of Mirabilis jalapa, five compounds were isolated and identified by spectral analysis to be as boeravinones B (m-1), E (m-2), 9-O-methyl-4-hydroxy boeravinone B (m-3), mirabijalone B (m-4) and daucosterol (m-5). Compounds m-1 and m-2 were first isolated from the plant. Bioassay test on compounds m-l~ 4 showed that they displayed no obvious DNA strand scission activity, but possessed significant inhibition against human leukemia cell line HL-60 and hepatocarcinogen cell line SMMC-7721 in vitro.At last, progress on chemical constituents, pharmacological studies on the genus of Bulbophyllum were summarized.
