In this paper,the chemical constituents of two medicinal plants in Yunnan province Lithocarpus fohaiensis and Viburnum odoratissimum were phytochemically studied,and 29 compounds were isolated and identified.By means of various chromatography methods and spectroscopic evidences,15 compounds were isolated and identified from the trunk and leaves of Lithocarpus fohaiensis.Their structures were elucidated as 3?-acetoxy ursolic acid(1),ursolic acid(2),betulinic acid(3),friedelin(4),?-friedelinol(5),?-sitosterol(6),dehydrodiisoeugenol(7),quercetin(8),kaempferol(9),4-hydroxy-3-methoxypropiophenone(10),p-hydroxybenzaldehyde(11),vanillic acid(12),protocatechuic acid methyl ester(13),3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid(14)and methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate(15).6,8 were firstly isolated from the species,the rest of them were firstly isolated from the genus.From the twigs of Viburnum odoratissimum,14 compounds were isolated and identified,they are ursolic acid(1'),methyl ursolate(2'),uvaol(3'),ursa-12-dien-1?,3?-diol 3-O-palmitate(4'),12,13-dihydropomolic acid(5'),oleanderolide(6'),3?-hydroxyurs-28,13-olide(7'),betulonic acid(8'),methyl lup-20(29)-en-3-on-28-oate(9'),20 hydroxy-3-oxolup-28-oic acid(10'),cabraleadiol(11'),4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde(12'),vanillic acid(13')and protocatechuic acid methyl ester(14').2'-7',9',11' were firstly isolated from the genus.At last,triterpene compounds in the recent 3 years were reviewed,including chemical consituents and biological activity.
