The Research Of The Treatment For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia By Xia Method

Objective: According to the pathogenesis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), we choose Taorenchengqi decoction as a carrier and improve it's validity by experimental research ,in order to give the experimental improvement for the feasibility of Xia Method to treat BPH in clinic.Methods: We divided 44 SD male rats randomly into 4 groups: normal group, model group, Taorenchengqi decoction group,and Taorenchengqi without rhubarb and Glauber's salt decoction group. We made model of BPH by cut the rat's testicle and injet testosterone propionate every day. Then give the normal group and model group oral administration of 0.9% NS, give the Taorenchengqi decoction group oral administration of Taorenchengqi decoction, give the Taorenchengqi without rhubarb and Glauber's salt decoction group oral administration of Taorenchengqi without rhubarb and Glauber's salt decoction. After 30 days of treatment, we kill the rats and observed the weight and cubage of the prostate, the ratio of dry and wet weight of the prostate, the content of testosterone(T) and estradiol(E2) in the rat's blood. And observe the microcosmic change of the rat's prostate by microscope.Result: Compared with the model group, Taorenchengqi decoction can obviously restrain the hyperplasia of prostate(P<0.01). And it is also better then the Taorenchengqi without rhubarb and Glauber's salt decoction group.Conclusion: Taorenchengqi decoction can obviously restrain the hyperplasia of prostate and this is strongly related with the fuction of rhubarb and Glauber's salt. As the rhubarb and Glauber's salt are in commen used in Xia Method, we can draw the conclusion that Xia Method is fit for the treat BPH in clinic.
