Clinical Study Of Diabetic Multiple Peripheral Neuropathies With Tongjiangpian Tablet

BackgroundThe incidence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) goes up year by year due to the incidence of debate going up and electromyography being applied to DM widely. There is no effective treatment in modern medicine nowadays. It is a research way that develops and objectively evaluates effective and less side effect new drug from traditional Chinese medicine. ObjectiveTo evaluate the curative effects and security of tongjiangpian tablet on DPN from the clinical symptoms, vibration sense, nerve conduction velocity, side effects, compare with mecobalamin. Meanwhile investigate its mechanism. MethodsSixty outpatients and inpatients were involved in a randomized control clinical trial. 30 cases were treated withtongjiangpian tablet (4 p.o tid) in the foundation of general cure; others were treated with mecobalamin (500ug im tiw). The course of treatment continued Sweeks. The treating effects are assessed by symptoms, vibration sense, nerve conduction velocity, the liver and renal functions, hemorheology, FBG, lipoid at the beginning and end of the trial respectively. Thestatistical analyses were made by SPSS at last. ResultsTotal remarkably effective rates were 80% in treat group and 53.3% in control group (P<0.05), the total symptoms effective rate were 86.7% in treat group and 53.3% in control group (P<0.05). In two groups vibration sense changed great significant difference after treatment (P<0.001), treat group's effective rate was 80%, control group effective rate was 66.7%, and there was no significant difference between two groups. In two groups Right Fibula total nerve and median nerve conduction velocity were all significant difference after treatment, no significant difference between two groups. In treat group total blood viscosity , high shearing , low shearing , plasma viscosity and FIB improved significant difference after treatment, no significant difference in control groups after treatment. There were significant differences between two groups after treatment. In treat group TC, TG, LDL-D improved significant difference after treatment, no significant difference in control groups after treatment. There were significant differences between two groups after treatment. FPG fell with great significant differences in treat group after treatment. There was not side effects and change of the liver and renal functions in treatment in two groups. ConclusionTongjiangpian tablet can improve the clinical symptoms of DPN, vibration sense, nerve conduction velocity, and its total curative effects are better than mecobalamin. Its mechanism maybe is the regulations of hemrheology, Lipoid, glucose. There were not side effects in treatment.
