Study On Immunity Function Of Senile Coronary Heart Disease And Interventional Effect Of Micro-powder Of American Ginseng

Objective: 1. To discuss the relationship between immunity inflammatory reaction and senile coronary heart disease. 2. To observe the clinical effect of American ginseng on senile coronary heart disease and its interventional effect on immunity functions , discuss its potential mechanism and provide scientific proof for its clinical application. Methods: 1. 68 cases of senile CHD patients were compared with 34 cases of normal people. To detect T lymphocyte subgroup CD₃⁺,CD₄⁺,CD₈⁺ and CD₄⁺/ CD₈⁺, immunoglobulin IgG,IgA and IgM, complement C₃ and C₄, ox-LDL antibody, sIL-2R, hs-CRP and TNF-α.2. 120 cases of senile CHD patients were divided into four groups randomly: One control group with routine western medicine therapy, three treatment groups with rough-powder of American ginseng ,micro-powder of full dosage American ginseng and micro-powder of 1/2 dosage American ginseng. There were 30 cases in each group and the course of treatment was one month. To observe the cease and reduce rate of nitrate ester medicine, attack frequency of angina pectoris, EKG and clinical syndrome after treatment. To detect T lymphocyte subgroup CD₃⁺,CD₄⁺,CD₈⁺,CD₄⁺/ CD₈⁺, IgG,IgA,IgM, complement C₃,C₄, hs-CRP and TNF-α. Results: 1. Senile CHD patients were in hyper-inflammatory state with deficiency of cellular immunity ,accentuation of humoral immunity and increase of autoantibody . 2. Micro-powder of full dosage American ginseng could relieve symptoms of angina pectoris, reduce wastage of nitroglycerin, improve EKG . Three treatment groups with American ginseng could relieve clinical syndrome in senile CHD patients. It could elevate CD₃⁺,CD₄⁺, decrease IgG,IgA,C₃,C₄ and hs-CRP significantly,and was superior to western medicine control group. Micro-powder of full dosage American ginseng group could elevate CD4+/ CD8+,decrease IgM significantly, it was superior to rough-powder of American ginseng group and micro-powder of 1/2 dosage American ginseng group. Micro-powder of full dosage group was superior to rough powder group in many indexes. No significant defference between micro-powder of 1/2 dosage American ginseng group and rough powder group in some indexes. Conclusion: Immunity inflammatory indexes could be a new clinical cirterion for CHD; American ginseng could regulate cellular and humoral immunity and have anti-inflammatory effect, which might be one of its mechanisms on angina pectoris; Micro-powde-making technique could increase curative effect of American ginseng on senile CHD and reduce dosage.
