| Objective: This study was undertaken to evaluate the imaging and applied value of high-frequency ultrasonography(US) in the diagnosis of finger joints damage in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Methods: US exams of the finger were performed in 32 patients with clinically diagnosed RA.X-ray plain film and US exams of the finger were performed in 14 patients. The ability of these two techniques to reveal the changes of RA was compared. Results: On plain films, joint swelling was seen in 8 cases (40 finger joints), bone erosions in 11(67 finger joints).With US, intra-articular fluid 10(49 finger joints) and bone erosions in 12(77 finger joints). Synovitis of finger joints in 13 RA patients (29 finger joints). Pannus in 4 patients(9 finger joints).Conclusion: Imaging of high frequency ultrasonography can be establish in the finger joints damage in RA patients, to give a reference for clinically diagnosed RA. |
