Objective: To investigate diuresis mechanism of Foeniculum Vulgare Mill on liver fibrosis ascites in rats. Methods: Selected 88 healthy SD male rats, 8 were selected randomly as Group A, which was normal group. The rest 80 rats were induced to liver fibrosis ascites model according to Sun Jianyong's method. 5 rats were selected randomly to be detected after 14 weeks. The rest 33 rats were divided into 3 groups randomly: Group B, Group C, Group D 11 rats for each group. Group B was normal saline group; Group C was Hydrochlorothiazide group and Group D was Foeniculum Vulgare Mill group. After 4 weeks, total volume of urine were collected for 24h. The serum was obtained in order to test ALT and Aldosterone. Liver and kidney were collected for H-E staining and NOS immunohistochemistry slice. Results: â‘ A lot of ascites were seen in abdominal cavity, inequality of size of tubercles could be seen on liver surface, a lot of pseudlobes and inflammation were observed by histological examination after induced. â‘¡The total volume of urine in Group C (Hydrochlorothiazide group) and Group D (Foeniculum Vulgare) Mill group was more than Group B. Compared with Group B, both had significant difference (P<0.05). â‘¢The ALT in Group B, C and D were...
