Correlation Analysis Of ABO Blood Type And Esophageal Cancer In Han,Uighur And Kazak People

Objective: To study the correlation of ABO blood type andesophageal cancer in Han, Uighur and Kazak people. Methods: A retrospective study was undertaken in 521 esophageal cancer cases, who did not receive any preoperative or postoperative chemotherapy, from the department of thoracic surgery of first Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University with complete records including surgery, histological examination, and a preoperative blood type examination recorded by BT department. The control group was collected from Urumqi City Blood Center 26306 normal blood donators. Result: Regardless of ethnic,the blood type distribution of cancer was A>B>O>AB, the risk factor for esophageal cancer in A blood type cases was 1.43 times of the rest. The risk factor for esophageal cancer in Kazak A blood type cases was 1.60 times of the other ethnic. Conclusion: These data demonstrated that there were significant differences between esophageal cancer and blood type in different ethnic,the risk factor for esophageal cancer in A blood type cases was significantly higher than the other blood types. However, there were no significant differences of esophageal cancer and blood type in Uighur cases.
