| In this thesis, we preliminary studied the chemical composition of Xinjiang traditional medicinal plants Quince and Dracoephalum mololarie L. We also tested some of their bioactivities. This thesis is composed of three parts; first part defines the natural products and describes the biological synthesis of natural products in plant body; this part also introduces the research has been done in this field. Second part describes determination of total flavones in Dracoephalum mololarie L., and the best method of isolating flavones in Dracoephalum mololarie L.. Experimental results showed that the amount of flavones in the flower of Dracoephalum mololarie L. is more than those in the wooden part. Furthermore, ethylacetate is the best, while water is the worst solvent for dissolving the flower. We also found out that for the wooden part ethanol is the best, water is the worst solvent. The best extraction method is to put the plants into 70% ethanol which has six times mass-ratio and heat at reflux for two hours. Nine different flavones were isolated and purified, anti-infection and antibacterial activities were tested. We also carried out the initial structural determination by using IR, UV, and NMR to the compounds that had been extracted from two different plants. The results showed that this chemical compounds are flavonoids. Experimental results also showed that different chemical compounds have different antibacterial activities. |
