Objective:Operation on abdominal region may cause"intestinal paralysis"that can be relieved by laparoscopy rather than celiotomy. While the exact development law and correlated mechanism of intestinal paralysis still remains unclear at present. The aim of our study is to explore the effect of laparoscope and celiotomy on gastrointestinal dynamics by means of comparing gastrointestinal dynamic changes posterior to laparoscopy and celiotomy for radical resection of rectal cancer.Methods:1. Selection and group of patients: 42 patients with colorectal cancer treated with radical resection in Department of Surgery, Research Institute of Surgery, Daping Hospital, Third Military Medical University from June 2004 to June 2005 were employed and divided non randomly into laparoscope group and celiotomy group, with 21 patients in each group.2. Observation Indices(1) In both groups, general materials included age, sex, site of cancer, and tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) staging of cancer; operation included operation time, rate of conversive celiotomy during laparoscope and intraoperative bleeding volume;postoperative recovery included postoperative complications, bowel sound recovery, gas passage by anus and defecation time.(2) The patients in both groups took orally paracetamol (PAC) at 20 mg/kg) and salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) at 30 mg/kg 12 hours preoperatively, after which 2 ml of venous blood was collected respectively at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for determining concentration of PAC...
