HCV infection is becoming a global health problem. WHO reported that HCV had infected over 170million people which accounted for 3% of global population in 1999, and it is estimated that the population of HCV infection increases by 3~4million per year. The most significant character of HCV infection is its ability to cause chronic infection, the rate of which is 50% ~ 85%,a part of those who get chronic infection will develop cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinomas(HCC). High rate of variation of HCV is a formidable hurdle to the vaccine research and production that must be overcome.HCV core protein has been studied as an candidate of DNA vaccineand and because of its high level conservation of gene it has common humoral and cell immune epitope between different types or subtypes.
