| Atherosclerosis is one of the common and frequently encountered diseases that severely threat human's life.A present, owing to the lack of an efficient cure for prevention and treatment to atherosclerosis, the main methods clinically used are to depress blood fat and regulate its metabolism, which was proved not so effective. Many experiments have showed that the oxidative modification plays an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, which attracts more and more attention. It is very important to study the mechanisms of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and to explore the protective effects of antioxidant on atherosclerosis.Animal models for atherosclerosis studding based on the effects of oxidative modification inthe pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, as well as the characteristics of polymorphism, and chainreaction of free radicals. The models were prepared by feeding the rabbits with high fat diet (HL) comprising 10% yolk powder, 1% cholesterol and 5% lard oil, and different dose of oxidant, hydrogen peroxide (HP). A free radical scavenger "Antioxin" was used as the therapeutic drug to explore the effects of oxidative injuries and antioxidation. Groups were as the followings:A. Negative control (CON), fed with normal diet;... |
