ObjectiveThe study was designed to probe the relationship between some adipocytokines (resistin, adiponectin and leptin) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated with macrovascular complication and the effect and mechanism of adipocytokines on diabetic macrovascular complication. It was likely to find a new methods for prevention and therapy of diabetic macrovascular complication.T2DM is a complicated disease affected by multiple factors, with higher rate of macrovascular complication which may cause serious suffering . Adipose tissue has always been regarded as an end differented organ, which can only reserve and offer energy. However, recent studies show that adipose tissue has powerful endocrine function, as adipocytes secrete many adipocytokines and proteins. These adipocytokines have extensive bioactive functions. Recent studies also show that several of these so-called adipocytokines (such as resistin ,adiponectin and leptin)could profoundly influence insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, type 2 diabetes mellitus and have effects on the occurrence and development of some diabetic macrovascular complications.Resistin is a new identified adipocytokine that has been proposed to be a link between obesity and T2DM. Studies on animals show resistin has effects on its targets such as adipocytes, liver and muscle, which results in glucose metabolizability abnormity. According to basic studies, resistin can result in...
