| Objective: To study the changes of plasma brain natriuretic peptide after successful cardioversion in patients with AF. To evaluate the relation between the plasma brain natriuetic peptide levels and the recurrence of AF.Method: [1]57 patients after successful cardioversion with AF in 2004 to 2006 was studied. and 20 permanence AF case and 19 normal adult as control. LVEF,LVEDV,LVESV was measured by echocardiography,and the concentration of plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,and the concentration of plasma atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) was analysed by radioimmunoassay. Study the changes of plasma brain natriuretic peptide after successful cardioversion in patients with AF . [2] 42 patients after successful cardioversion with AF admitted in 2003 to 2005 was studied. We record the age,the gender,the etiopathogenisis,the echocardiography results,the laboratory results and measured the concentration of BNP,ANP respectively. The patients were followed to February 2006. The first recurrence of AF was defined end-point . The Cox proportional-hazards regression model was useed to estimate the factors of influence recurrence. ROC curve was used to analysis the Sensitivity,Specificity,PPV and NPV by the difference concentration of BNP and ANP. Kaplan-Meier plot was used to calculate accumulation non-recurrence rate,and calculate accumulation non-recurrence rate with ANP and BNP too. Kaplan-Meier plot was used to analysis the use of ACEI or ARB.Results: [1] In this study,Before the cardioversion, the plasma concentration of BNP and ANP in the AF for cardioversion group was significantly higher than normal controls (BNP 268.4±112.3 vs 138.7±70.6pg/ml ,ANP 183.3±83.3 vs 98.9±35.8pg/ml P <0.01),but is no difference with the permanence AF group.
