Lung cancer is one of the most frequent malignant turmor in the world. About 86% patients survive less than 5 yeas when diagnosed. Of about 80% lung cancer is non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC). As a kind of solid tumors, the growth and metastasis of lung cancer are intimately correlated with turmor angiogenesis. Turmor angiogenesis is regulated by two types of angiogenic factors, pro-angiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors. Among pro-angiogenic factors, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)is consided to be the most critical one, which can take part in lots of steps of angiogenesis. Matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9) can degradate extracellular matrix(ECM)during the tumor angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis . Microvessel density(MVD)is a quantitative measure of angigenesis , which has been showed to be an important parameter of the biological behavior of various malignant tumors. Up to now, there have been few reports on the expression of VEGF,MMP-9 and their correlations with angiogengsis in NSCLC.Objective To investigate the expression of VEGF and MMP-9 in...
