Objective: To elucidate endothelin-1 (ET-1) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression in the tissues of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer and its clinical significance in patients of BPH and prostate cancer. Examine endothelin receptors expression in the tissues of benign prostatic hyperplasia, and to explore the role of endothelin receptors in the pathogenesis of BPH.Methods : Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression level of ET-1 and iNOS in the tissues of normal prostate, BPH and prostate cancer. Detect the expression of the protein of ET_AR and ET_BR by Western blot in tissues of BPH normal prostate. Result: Positive ET-1 and iNOS were detected in endochylema of basal epithelial cells and secretory cells of the glandular epithelium of BPH and prostate cancer cells. The expression of ET-1 in the tissue of BPH is significantly higher than that in the prostate cancer (P<0.05). But the difference of iNOS expression between the tissues of BPH and prostate cancer is not significant (P>0.05 ) . A positive correlation was found between ET-1 and iNOS(R=0.88,P<0.001 ).The quantization of ET-1 and...
