Studies On The Chemical Composition In Rhizome Of Panax Notoginseng

Notoginseng(Panax notoginseng(Burk)F.H Chen) distributes in Guangxi and Yunnan of China. It was used to treatment disease for a long time, even recorded in "Yi Men Mi Zhi" and in "Die Sun Miao Fang" It is one of the precious conventional medicinal materials in China, one of the main composition in the Yunnan White Power .Since 1970s, ginsenosides were discovered in Notoginseng ,and clinic applications home and abroad. Saponin is a main component in Notoginseng. So far, about more than sixty ginsenonsides have been isolated from different parts of Notoginseng, and most of them are 20 (s)-protopanaxadiol and 20(s)-peotopanaxatriol of dammarane type. However, oleanane ginsenosides of Notoginseng have not found. Notoginseng ,which is different from Ginseng and American Ginseng. Some ginsenosides in Notoginseng are the same as ginsenosides in Ginseng and American Ginseng, such as ginsenoside-Rb₁, Rb₂, Rb₃, Rc, Rd, F₂, gypenoside and ginsenoside-Re, Rg₁, Rg₂, Rh₁,with a special high content of pharmacological action ginsenoside-Rg₁ and Rb₁. Meanwhile, some sapoins are particular in Notoginseng, such as notoginsenoside-R₁, R₂, R₄, R₆ and Fa,etc. Notoginseng keeps functions of astrictive action ,enriching blood, protecting cardiac muscles, anti-coronary heart disease, protecting brain tissues, extending blood vessels, controlling blood pressure, anti-caducity, improving memory, nourishment,,tonicity, and immunity adjustment.In this paper , we have systematically studied the different kinds of chemical constituents of the rhizoma of Notoginseng. Our purpose is aiming to develop Chinese tradition medicine in accordance with market demand, and bring it into international market. This is also a goal of modernization for Chinese tradition medicine.ConclusionThe distill flow of ginsenoside-Rg₁ was renovated, resulting in 98% purity. Raw material is provided for novel medicine with ginsenoside-Rg₁ as the key composition.Ginsenoside-Rg₁, ginsenoside-Rb₁, ginsenoside-Rg₂, ginsenoside-Re, and ginseno-side-Rh₁ were isolated from rhizoma of Notoginseng by D-101 macroporous resin ,incloding silica gel column chromatography and chromatographic analysis .
