Objective: To study the expression of Insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR) in gastric cancer and normal cancerous beside tissue and investigate the relationship of IGF-IR expression with clinicopathological features in gastric cancer; Using ASODN technique, we investigated the effect of IGF-IR ASODN on the human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 by analyzed the expression changes of IGF-IR mRNA and IGF- I R protein, we want to give further evidence that IGF-IR might be a promising therapeutic target for tumors. Methods: Forty-seven gastric cancers and their adjacent tumor-free mucosa, were employed in the study. The expression of IGF-IR mRNA and protein were detected by semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerasechain reaction and immunohistochemistry, respectively, and their relationships with clinicopathological features were analyzed. The IGF-IR ASODN was transferred into human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 by lipofectamine after it synthesized. Then, we analyzed the changes of IGF-IR level both in mRNA and in protein by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry in respectivly; The rates of growth and apoptosis in gastric cell line SGC-7901 was measured by MTT assay and Tunnel. Results: 1.The expression of IGF-IR was hardly detected in the gastric...
