Objictive : To study the World Health Organization(WHO) classification of fhymoma and its clinical values in clinical stage of thymoma and the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis(MG). Methods: sixty-eight cases of thymomas were classified by the WHO standard and the relationship between the thymoma subtypes and MG complication, tumor invasivenesss and tumor size was studied. Results: MG were associated with 0, 40%, 15%, 50%, 46.2% and 25% with type A , AB .B1 ,B2 , B3 , and C thymomas, respectively, Invasive tumors were seen in 33.3%, 20%, 40%, 16.7%, 57.7% and 100% of type A, AB,Bl,B2,B3, and C thymoma ,respectively.Tumor sizeof thymoma with MG is 4.73±2.05cm , and the size of thymoma without MG is 7.20±2.52cm. Conclusion: The WHO classification of thymomas is closely related to the clinical stage of ththymoma. The size of thymoma without complication MG is larger than that of thymoma with complication MG . We didn't found the certainly relationship between the WHO classification of thymomas and the myasthenia gravis complication.
