Objective: To evaluate that diagnose thyroid adenoma by Color Doppler ultrasonography and to explore the effect of Interventional Treatment of it by Ultrasound- guided Percutaneous Ethanol Injection.Methods: Part 1: Analyze a total of 102 patients, 76 cases were considered as thyroid adenoma by color Doppler examination, then proved by pathological examination and compare the result between the two methods. Part 2: Interventional treatment was performed in 25 patients with 29 cases thyroid adenoma under the guidance of ultrasound and diagnosed pathologically. Anhydrous alcohol was injected into the tumors and followed up 1/2-1 year.Results: Part 1: In thyroid adenoma, many of them are unilateral, single, omnibus echo, acoustic halo, have envelope, color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI) show rich flood flow signal among circumjacent and interior. Among 76 cases there are 69 cases were proved after pathological examination, the delicacy rate of ultrasonography diagnose is 93.2%, the differential rate is 75%. Part 2: After percutaneous ethanol injection treatment (PEIT),(1) The cubage of adenoma is reduced, there was significant difference of before therapy(p<0.01), the cure rate was 6.90%,the efficacy rate was 96.55%,one patience was inefficacy; (2) The curative effect of substantiality adenoma is significant difference of bursa adenoma (p<0.05); (3) The curative effect by PEIT is no difference of different cubage of adenoma (p>0.05). (4) The change of thyroid function series were no difference between before PEIT and after it; Echoes of the tumors were enhanced, but the blood flow inside disappeared. No obvious side effects were observed during the therapy.Conclusions: There are significant value of the color Doppler in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the thyroid adenoma. It is very helpful for selecting a proper treatment protocol. Color Doppler Ultrasonography is a useful method in clinical diagnosis of thyroid adenoma. It is a convenient, good and feasible method to treat thyroid adenoma with affirmative effect.
