Objective: Laryngeal squamous carcinoma is one of the most common malignant neoplasms in the head and neck region, accounting for 13.9% of all malignant neoplasms in the head and neck region. The main treatment to Laryngeal squamous carcinoma nowadays is operation and radiotherapy. Laryngeal squamous carcinoma is not the most sensitive carcinoma to radiation therapies. Because of its biological and pathological characteristic which limits the effects of radiotherapy. The main obstruction of radiotherapy is radioresistant and trauma to normal tissue that are yet to be overcome. Therefore, we investigated apoptosis and variation of XIAP in Hep-2 cells after irradiation with gama-ray by immunohistochemistiy (FCM) and RT-PCR and discussed the relationship between above two phenomena in order to provide theoretic basis for gene treatment in laryngeal squamous carcinoma. Methods: Hep-2 cells were irradiated with 2,4,8Gy. After 24 hours we measured the inhibition rate of cell with crystal violet. Hep2 cells were irradiated with 0,2,4,8Gy and after 6,12,24,36hours we investigated the rate of the cell apoptosis and the expression of XIAP mRNA by RT-PCR and FCM.Results: Hep-2 cells were adherent in normal survival...
